The United States alone consumes 31.2 billion water bottles a year taking 17.6 million barrels of OPEC oil to create them. Add in Europe, Japan, Canada and the rest of the world and you have a major problem. Enough to fuel millions of cars each and every year. Also think about plastic bags - 100 billion plastic bags used in the United States alone each year. Multiply that by two or three and you have 24-36 million barrels of oil wasted each year. How about the entire world. Think 154.3 billion water bottles and 500 billion - 1 trillion bags and that makes up to 207.4 million barrels of oil a year. Enough to knock the price of oil down to 1990s levels.
